Kataeb Party assured that Syrian rogatories are at fault, expressing surprise that a Lebanese person would press charges against Lebanese figures before non-Lebanese courts. The rogatories were a chief topic discussed Monday during Kataeb’s political office meeting.
Kataeb stated that “Syrian rogatories are procedures that hide in their form, context and timing malicious intents,” finding it odd that “a Lebanese citizen pressed charges against other Lebanese before non-Lebanese courts.”
The Party asserted that good ties with the U.S. are mandatory to face Israeli settlement, condemning attacks on President Michel Sleiman for visiting the United States.
It stated “we all know a large amount of Lebanese interests was provided by ties with the American administration and its support for international resolutions that preserve Lebanon’s sovereignty, freedom and independence.”
Kataeb commended President Sleiman’s role in determining Lebanon’s foreign policy and interests.
The meeting also addressed Premier Saad Hariri’s expected visit to Damascus, reiterating the party’s stand in support of normal bilateral ties established by honest dialogue.
Kataeb discussed in its political office meeting as well the cabinet’s tasks after approving the Ministerial Statement and gaining the vote of confidence, stressing on the party’s reservations regarding article 6 pertained to resistance arms.
