Prime Minister Saad Hariri left for Copenhagen Tuesday to participate in the UN summit on climate change, where he will deliver a speech and present Lebanon’s point of view on the major environmental problem facing the globe, news reports said Tuesday.

Hariri will head a delegation that includes Health Minister Mohammad Jawad Kalifeh, Energy Minister Jebran Bassil, Finance Minister Rayya Al-Hasan, Environment Minister Mohammad Rahhal, Lebanon’s ambassador to Denmark Nasrat Al-Asaad, Lebanon’s ambassador to the UN Nawaf Salam, Hariri’s advisor to external affairs Mohammad Shatah, Chief Bureau Nader Hariri, media advisor Hani Hammoud, and the economic advisor Mazen Hanna.

During his visit, Hariri is expected to meet with French President Nicolas Sarkozy, Turkish President Abdullah Gul, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, Greek Prime Minister Georgiou Papandreou, Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon, in addition to a number of heads of delegations and officials of international participants in the conference.

Hariri will also submit to donor countries and international funding organizations, a number of projects for Lebanon that include a project to replace the taxi cabs in Lebanon with fuel-saving hybrid cars, a project to generate wind power, a project to support the Lebanese agricultural sector's ability to cope with climate change and a project to address the drought and deforestation in Lebanon.
